Makers of compostable cling wrap with questionable materials include Kapulu, Ikigaia and others. WRAPOK' cling wrap claims to be 100% compostable yet lists polyethylene plastic first as its material. By adding some unknown quantity of PLA (a true bioplastic) is this cling wrap is a viable substitute? (we think maybe not, or there's sone serious mislabeling!!)

Other compostable food cling wraps on Amazon are just as dubious. One outright touting the dreaded PBATs (plastic) while others have descriptions such as Aluminum Plastic. What is that? We don't know. Without clear labeling, and a source material given, consumers cannot be sure.

Just as well with so many compostables cling options to confuse us already. Sure, everything will biodegrade eventually. The question is, what does it leave behind?
Currently, when shopping on Amazon, we may be limited with compostable cling options, free of plastic composition, until other brands realize quality and durability in compostable cling production requires no use of PBATs or any plastics whatsoever. Compostable these other wraps may be, but an alternative to plastic? No, they are not. The end goal being that of ditching plastic wrap altogether.
Composit generally a good company but their cling wrap needs some work. No Plastics unfortunately cannot recommend Compostic at this time, even though plastic free.

How much does plastic cling wrap contribute to plastic pollution?
